Has anyone tried VMWare? Thursday, September 21, PM. Hello Arthur, Which Virtual Server release did you use? What was the issue? There's a kb article which addresses this for Vista. The IIS 7 install requirements are a little complicated but it does work.

Which IIS 7. I appreicate the link to the KB article. I am guessing that it had something to do with the fact that I had installed Vista by means of an in-place upgrade. I decided that I would be much better off simply doing a fresh install.

After completing the fresh install in a fraction of the time it took to do the upgrade I must add The original issue posted on this thread was never addressed, but it is the exact issue I am having. I have done a clean install of Vista Ultimate into Virtual Server. The Vista install seems to be working without any issues. However, all of the checkboxes to install server components are disabled and unchecked.
