Serial data input bose

This thread is probobly dead by now, but I have the same problem. Does anyone know how to do this? Do anyone have experience from this? Is it a good choise, and easy to set up? Any input would be highly appreciated. Thank you! No on has come to the rescue, probably because there's not much luck in trying to integrate Bose systems into a "custom" non-Bose solution. It does not play well with others. And judging by the fact that no regular members have posted a solution to this snce it was introduced in , I would say that you might be out of luck.

Wow, just over 7 years later, a new poster or someone who just doesn't want to be identified solved the riddle. Anyone has the info for a lifestyle 48 installation? Do you need to change something on the bose system? On October 6, at , Casentis said They were about to throw away their Bose LifeStyle 48 - which worked perfectly fine - and I nearly dove across the room to claim it. I had it in storage and the MediaCenter was stolen.

Does anyone think that I might be able to send serial commands right to the Accoustimass Module to turn the system on, control volume etc. I'm pretty sure it's possible after reading all these posts and right now the system is useless anyway.

Maybe I should give it a shot On November 15, at , rjbradlow said I don't know why, but we switched to using IR for the 48 some time ago and I have not inquired as to the reasoning yet, but would imagine it's because BOSE may have dropped support for the serial data port. I don't know. I may post what I have later but it probably won't be of any use to most people here.

Lee September 12, at am. User Name Remember Me? Input Bose amp from carputer? Hi, I've installed a carputer in my H2, and want to use the the original amp and speakers. I've removed the original radio and replaced it with a touch screen that is connected to a computer in the back of the car. Does anyone know how I can connect the carputer to the bose amp? Re: Input Bose amp from carputer? The factory radio sends signals via class 2 data. You will need a interface of some sort from your local stereo shop if its even possible.

Not sure on this on sorry. NJ H2. Good News: It can be done! It's possible because I have a similar set up. Carputer touch screen in dash and computer under rear seat that utilizes factory speakers. I have no idea how they connected to factory Amp because I had it done at a local Audio Shop a few years back.

Teh black won't get you back. The biggest challenge to serial communication is making sure you get all the bytes, and that you get them in the right order. If the computer PC or microcontroller was doing something else at the instant that it should have been listening to the serial port, or it its input buffer has overflowed i.

For example, if the microcontroller is sending 3 variables, for 3 sensors, the PC needs to receive all three in order to act on them. This is a problem if, say, A is the right switch, B is the center switch, and C is the left switch. For example, if A can range from 0 to , and B can range from 0 to , and C can range from 0 to , perhaps you send at the beginning of each string. For example, the sending device may wait until it receives a request for data, then send one string of data, then wait for another request.

This way, the receiver knows that it will only ever have one string of data in its buffer at a time. If the microcontroller is the sender, you might make it wait like this.
